Our Story

Since 2015, Little Acorns Clubs has been dedicated to providing a fantastic wraparound childcare service for children aged 4-11 years. Located in Jesmond URC on Burdon Terrace for our Breakfast and After School Clubs, we are just a short walk away from West Jesmond Primary School.

In 2020 Little Acorns Clubs underwent a change of ownership and is now flourishing under the leadership of Gemma Park and Donna Albon. The club has gone from strength to strength with the addition of exciting new holiday clubs and a range of new activities for the children to enjoy.

Gemma Park-MANAGING DIRECTOR

Gemma Park

Gemma obtained a degree in Education and Care from the University of Sunderland and is a fully qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant and has a wealth of experience teaching and caring for young children. She began her teaching career at Washingwell Primary School, before moving to Newcastle High School for Girls and has gained over 10 years experience working with young children. Gemma is a Forest School Leader and is also very accomplished singer and performer. She enjoys spending time with children and feels it is very important to provide a nurturing environment in out of school care, where children are able to discover and develop the personal, social and emotional aspects of learning through play and other fun activities. Her biggest achievement so far was reaching the Semi-Finals of Britain’s got Talent in 2008.

AMY DAY-EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE LEADER

Amy is our Early Years Foundation Stage Lead at Little Acorns. She joined us 2021 and is an extremely valued member of the team.

Amy is a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant and has spent her working career in multiple schools around Newcastle .

She loves working with Children and it has always been something she has wanted to do as she finds the role extremely fun and rewarding.

Amy has 3 children of her own, 2 girls and 1 boy and in her spare time she enjoys reading and being outdoors with her family, visiting new places.

Donna Albon-MANAGING DIRECTOR

Donna has more of a business background, with over 15 years experience in business operations and finance working in various industries. She started life as a fitness instructor and followed on into gym and leisure club management positions. She travelled the world for a year in her early twenties before returning to the UK and gaining some accounts and payroll qualifications whilst working in a fast paced recruitment environment. More recently she has been involved in working with children, being 1 half of a very successful partnership owning and running a children’s entertainment company, providing birthday parties and holiday clubs for children aged 4-11yrs. She is committed to ensuring Little Acorns Clubs continues to provide the highest level of child care, whilst providing a safe and fun environment for the children.
